Food is Fuel!
Your post workout window is an important to time to refuel and replenish. It is essential to eat a variety of Whole Foods. Although protein powders and powdered greens are convenient and have always been apart of my routines, I try not to become dependent on them. I also try to incorporate meals and smoothies that have all fresh foods. My favorite post workout smoothie right now is:
1 cup of cold filtered water
1/2 cup frozen Organic blueberries
3 tablespoons of Organic hemp seeds
Organic locally grown Spinach

Enjoy delicious colorful food that is organic.
Challenge yourself and learn how to grow your own food.
Check out this beauty. Gorgeous greens and I tried a couple new edible flowers from our garden ...the blueish looking ones are lemon balm & the white are elder. Also enjoyed delicious Rosemary citrus tea with oolong, green tea, lavender, orange peel, black seed, lemon balm etc.. I'm super blessed that I can get ice in larger amounts locally that is reverse osmosis as well. #NomNom #SipSip #Lol #EnjoyHealthyFood #FindJoyInTheProcess

Here are a couple meals from my week!
Dinner: Wild Salmon, sweet potatoes, asparagus and an Eat Clean apple blueberry & blackberry crumble (made with oats, oat flour, honey, cinnamon, pecans, & lemon)!
Lunch: Panera Bread has a yummy Mediterranean Quinoa Salad. I get it with no dressing and add Hemp seeds! I love these convenient packs for busy days! And what a win to add 10grams of protein, 50% RDA in Magnesium, & 25% Copper etc etc
Breakfast: Delicious ancient grain porridge. Amaranth & Fereekeh grains with elderberry syrup, hemp oil, panaseeda oil, honey, cinnamon, sprouted pumpkin seeds, & blackberries.

Nothing quite like the peace of a trail run followed by an interval/plyo butt kickin workout! Heart beating, blood pumping, and focus raging. Health is a relationship with your body. Honor it!
My post workout smoothie! Coconut water, blueberries, strawberries, kale <earthbound has an awesome product> no added ingredients, & hemp protein. I also added a splash of stevia.

I like to make a large batch of something to have in the fridge ready to roll throughout the week for when I'm busy. Tonight I made an Organic Kamut spiral vegetable salad.
1 box of Kamut spirals
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 tablespoon of a nut oil
Black seed powder
Red pepper flakes
Delicious and amazing for the body.
I snack on it through out the week as needed.

Easy crock pot chicken fajitas.
A nice eat clean option for dinner when you are busy!
I cut up an onion & green bell pepper. I placed them in the bottom of the crock pot. I put 4 chicken breasts on top. I poured a bag of organic taco seasoning over the chicken breasts. I cooked it on high for 4 hours (or you can do 8 hours on low of course) I threw in shiitake mushrooms for the last 30min of the cooking time (optional) Pull apart the chicken or shred it in your food processor. Yum! And everyone is happy. #EatClean #LiveFit#NoExcuses #FindYourRhythm

Kids and I had an awesome track workout today! We had a great talk about hydration & electrolytes considering it was 96 degrees when we were running/working out. A couple recommendations. The new drink "body armor" has legit ingredients and recommended by pro team sport nutritionists. High in sugar but necessary for athletes who are sweating excessively and consistently. For example, football players exercising outside for two a days etc. Its available at Target. I use Ultima Replenisher when I feel the need. It has no sugar, legit & sweetened with stevia. My kids love it.
