Choose organic veges & fruits, a healthy protein & healthy fat. Add spices for flavor & more nutrition. Have fun with your food! Prepare your kitchen for success. Tonight I'm having grassfed brisket over sautéed coconut oil, garlic, onions, Porta Bella mushroom, kale, rosemary twigs & Tarragon. I placed that over Shirataki rice. #EatClean #EatAVarietyOfMeals #LiveFit #Yum |

Green Tea is Your Friend!!

Green Tea is a gift from nature. I have green tea daily, usually both hot and cold. The best form of green tea that you can choose is an organic, fresh, "loose leaf" tea. I get my loose leaf teas at the Tea Embassy in Austin Texas. Check out their website! My favorites are the "Greenbelt Green Tea" and "Almond Cookies" flavors..especially in the evenings to kill that sweet craving. I also brew fresh teas in an iced tea pot where I combine a variety of teas for an antioxidant packed tea that I sweeten with Stevia. My whole family enjoys this! Green, White, Yerba Mate, Oolong, black etc (just use a coffee filter & put in desired amount of each loose leaf tea. Or, One tea bag of each kind of tea) My favorite brand of Green Tea that is already bagged is Organic Bigelow Green Tea with Pomegranate. I obviously don't drink green tea all day, and to get the most benefit possible this is an excellent: So add a glass of green iced tea and one cup of hot tea to your day! SMALL CHANGES, BIG RESULTS |
Vegetable Soup Recipe

It's a rainy soup kind of day! A typical recipe for one of my vegetable soups, although it varies on what's growing and what I can get local etc... 4 cups of broth of your choice. I try and use a bone broth either chicken, grass fed beef, or venison. Approx. 3 cups of filtered water Various seasonal vegetables sliced & chopped. I always try to include cruciferous veges like cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, Brussels sprouts etc... As many fresh herbs/dried herbs the better. In my opinion the more the merrier. Today I had all the spices I had left from the farmers market sage, tarragon, basil, rosemary, thyme, Bay leaf. Use one ore more. All herbs are so good for you and add incredible nutrition & taste. Add a good sea salt or Himalayan pink salt. Typically about 1 teaspoon. A couple cloves of chopped Garlic. (I always try to include garlic & onions in my soup for the nutrition) pretty much add coconut oil to everything. In a big pot of soup like this about 1 tablespoon. It helps with taste and helps fat soluble vitamins actually absorb amongst other things. I added sunflower petals to this pot as well! Ps I typically add the kale leaves half way through but it does fine the whole time as well. Crock pot on high for 4 hours. Viola! |
Healthy 2 Ingredient Popsicles your Kids will Love

2 ingredient Popsicles! Coconut water & fruit that's it, and they are delicious. Cut up desired fruit, we used strawberries, kiwi, & blueberries. Put in Popsicle molds. We used rocket pops & ring pops. Pour in coconut water & freeze. One individual sized coconut water made all these Popsicles. Coconut water contains 5 essential electrolytes: calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, & sodium. It quickly rehydrates the body amongst many other health benefits. As usual, not all coconut waters are created equal. I use Harvest Bay. Read the ingredient label…. it is Coconut water only, no additives. I have yet to find a popsicle in the store that is suitable for kids without the HFCS, GMO's, Dyes etc.. Hope these inspire you to take one step closer to a healthier life. Creative Way To Feed Your Family Healthy

One question I get asked a lot is how do you feed a family healthy that all like different things? I deal with that issue as well & it can be exhausting. One thing that I do often is choose different fruits, vegetables, a meat etc and let the fam choose their "creation." For example, for our dinner tonight they could make nachos, a salad, or a burrito. Live Fit. Eat Clean. Eat Colorful. |
